    I don't own a 4K Tv

Same here, and I'm stunned that so many people want to rush out, sell their P4 and get a P4P because of the better camera quality. Sure it will record at 60 fps in 4K, but then something else will come out marginally better ......

Tried and True Litchi Missions No Longer Load

Could there be not enough free space on your device to allow all the operations necessary to run Litchi to occur?

    RTH Features

So we shouldn't be calling it a RTH scenario. It an LOS manoeuvre which, if successful, will result in a continuation of normal flight. If not successful, then a normal RTH is executed.

    RTH Features

I'm still not convinced about this backtrack to home thing. Maybe a short backtrack to try to regain signal, but not all the way home. In an emergency, if RTH is activated, you want it to go straight home, not muck around retracing a path for which you might not have enough battery. If you've...

    Litchi lost signal question

A word of caution. If you're running under Litchi control and your aircraft loses signal, it will complete the mission. Therefore, you need to ensure that the mission will get it back to within signal range. If the mission is a POI Orbit for example, if it loses contact with the RC, it will...

    Litchi Mission Lost Phantom

A couple of things to consider. - When there is a LOS, Litchi will not allow the drone to return home, the executing mission continues. - After 2 mins it had slowly gone only 126 feet. At that rate after about 18 mins it would only get about 1200 feet before the battery died. And that 126 feet...

    Best Device?

You need to work our your needs. - Do you want an inbuilt GPS so you can dynamically change the Home Point - Do you want WiFi or Sim card connectivity - Do you want an HDMI port - Are you familiar with Android or iOS? - How big do you want the screen to be? - What is your budget? - Do you have...

The Official "My P4 Range Is Too Short" Thread - Don't Start New Range Threads!

From an elevated location I was able to get 4Km out last week. I'm in Australia. Everything stock, P4, nVidia Shield K1, Litchi. Still had 4 bars on transmission signal.

    TYPICAL AUSSIE!!!

And apparently he was also fined by the local council as his fence did not meet the standard required to enclose a pool. The "drop zone", the side facing the pool, must be clear of rails and other "climb down" aids. In this case it should be the palings side of the fence.

    Litchi

It's completely possible to use Litchi and stay within LOS, below 400 feet, not above populous areas etc. Whether you choose not to, is a topic for another thread. We're really just talking about Litchi functionality here. I think the only competitor for Litchi is Autopilot, which I have heard...

What's the difference between "Smart" & "Failsafe" RTH?

Ah, I see. Upon signal loss it does a short backtrack seeking signal. Then if it can't find it is does a Failsafe RTH and goes directly home. Now that makes much more sense.

What's the difference between "Smart" & "Failsafe" RTH?

My apologies, no I hadn't noticed that this was P4P. Irrespective however, it's difficult to believe they would change the strategy of this basic function, and it will be interesting to see the results of a simple test. If someone could just fly off for 150 metres or so, go a similar distance...

What's the difference between "Smart" & "Failsafe" RTH?

I was able to find this video which is a guy testing Failsafe RTH on a P4. Although he nearly crashed into trees a few times on the way to the point where he turned off the controller and sent it home, you can easily see it didn't follow the roads he took, but went directly home.

What's the difference between "Smart" & "Failsafe" RTH?

That's certainly not what the latest Version of the manual Ver 1.2, available on the DJI web site says. There are plenty of videos where the signal has been lost and the Failsafe Return takes a direct route home from where the signal was lost. The increase in height when RTH is activated is...

What's the difference between "Smart" & "Failsafe" RTH?

I don't think I said that, but I am keen to see what happened. I haven't heard this mentioned before and it would be good to understand what happens. It would be interesting to just have a drone flying past not too far away and then just turn the controller off to see what happens.
