It looks like our (UK) Herring Gull (Larus argentatus), and seems to exhibit similar defensive behaviour! I didn't notice a nest though?
The behaviour is pretty clear anyway. They will swoop at an intruder with or without legs down. They will attack humans if their nest site is threatened...
Seems to me that these batteries are a good slave but a poor master!
After using Li-ion and Li-Po batteries for a long time in model helis, power thirsty video cameras (Red etc) and drones I can honestly say that the only serious damage I've ever incurred is by over-disharging them (total...
Sounds like a good reason to employ DOPs trained to work with film! It's an interesting concept though - video producers needing to direct tighter sequences.
I'd definitely skip the Inspire 2 - a load of trouble at the moment.
Perhaps DJI have eventually got the message about firmware - If It aint broke....., which would be great news indeed! But I doubt it.
Most people who use this forum will have seen the misery caused to 1000's of people in the past with P4 series by FW updates - rendering functional systems...
I had a faulty motor on an Inspire 2 just recently. DJI replaced all 4 motors and the esc s under warranty.
I routinely rotate the props to check whether they turn smoothly, and one was rougher than the other 3. Well worth checking.
You can check the motor currents and esc temperatures by...
Yes, and you can sometimes see the effects of the props on overcast days too, if the gimbal is tilted upwards, because they alter the bright skylight flare reaching the lens, rather like a rotating lens shade!
Perhaps that's why they are experts! But there are a few things that are clear even if you are not an expert.
Take a look at the footage either side of the cut at 1.22. Look at the skid marks where the bear falls before and after the edit. The bear is in a different position, much further...
Well, I'm from the UK, and my ancestors wiped out all of our bigger mammal species centuries ago!
But we can only speak as we find. I only shoot with a camera and try not to disturb at all.
Leave only footprints.........
I did not see that. I saw the camera track towards the bears (the perpective changes). This track was cut - I wonder what happened next........?
Whoever filmed it was clearly inexperienced, as he/she made the same mistake twice - only beginners do that!
The camera was not "miles away"...
Hi African Wildlife. I'm sure that we have complete agreement in the important principle - understand your subject and treat it with respect.
I don't have much direct experience with news crews, but they are " of the moment" , here today, gone tomorrow.
More worrying are the...
Hav'n't seen the video footage but it's clear from the still that the mother is not happy (why do snow slopes always get steeper at the top).
Pretty deplorable that some insensitive individual should exacerbate this clearly delicate situation, by pestering the mother with a drone. My...
