If you put that reflective multicolor tape on it (and some googly eyes if you can), they see it's not interesting to them and leave it alone. I had this problem last spring. Also, if they attack, fly UP not down as down is what they'll expect. Unless they're right on top of it, of course.
The attachment is a flat export image and not the actual model, but it was shot with POI and a few manual shots from lower, then trimmed to include only obstructions for solar panels. Turned out you can get a better model and still get the solar info with Google Earth if you trim out the other...
DroneDeploy is worth it. If you’re being paid, it makes things much easier and for me, my annual subscription is paid for after 1-5 missions depending on the job and what it’s paying. Although they are putting a lot of new and useful features in the Enterprise Edition, which falls under the...
My 9.7” iPad Cellular worked fine with P4PV2 and iPhone X was good with M2P. It’s a year old, so fairly new, but Go 4 gets along with it. Haven’t tried DroneDeploy or Litchi yet.

I’m pretty sure it is the pilot’s responsibility to keep up with all relevant information before and during flight. If his drone knew there was a TFR, he should have as well. And no, DJI does not directly take control of the drone, the onboard systems do, based on the most current data they...
I’ve had it let me unlock the geofence in restricted airspace but I’m not sure of the mechanism. I did have authorization from FAA but I don’t know how DJI Go 4 would have known that.
I’m really glad I’m not the only one. I thought it was me. I’m going to order a Mavic 2 and send the P4PV2 in for repair once the Mavic is unboxed. I really appreciate this group.
Intent at flight time isn’t relevant. If you earn money from flying and don't have a 107, it’s a violation.
I had taken ground school before Part 107 and you’re right, there’s a lot in common, since we are sharing airspace with manned aircraft.
I would be in favor of requiring all drone...
I wouldn’t want to be that guy when he’s caught. And he will be if he continues with that. The only possible redemption is if he had a waiver and permission from the appropriate agency and that is as likely as walking out your door and finding a huge pile of gold. Not strictly impossible but not...
California has been doing this. There is virtually no place to fly in the Bay Area unless it’s a work flight. From prior flight training, I don’t think it’s enforceable, but nobody wants to spend the time or money to find out.
