    FPV monitor signal not clear

Check both the Gopro and monitor are both set to the same system, either NTSC or PAL

Throw your $$$ in the river

Marc70 Rule number one, don't fly over populous areas or buildings (this includes roads) IT IS FOR THIS VERY REASON!!!!!!!! It is people like you who will ruin it for the people who fly sensibly and with care, at a guess you probably apply the same lack of care to preflight checks, aircraft...

    Airplane Radar?

My 2 bobs worth, I agree that the best way is to be aware of whats going on around you, that said in most normal circumstances if you are not in controlled airspace which you should not be without permission from CASA in our case and further than 3nm from a registered airfield or Helipad all...

Is there a 2 or 3 mile FPV setup out there? YES there is

Re: Is there a 2 or 3 mile FPV setup out there? Check this out http://www.fpvmodel.com/myflydream-aat- ... _g123.html This is a directional tracking antenna which will increase your fpv range considerably.

    Ground station basics

You will need both, for FPV you will need a camera, video transmitter and ground receiver, screen or goggles. The Ground station allows you to program your flight waypoints and you can see where it is on google maps, the GS would not really be any use without the camera and FPV.

    Flight Time

25 minutes is probably a calculated time with a bare P2 hovering, a 5400mAh battery is around 63 Watt hours, if it takes 150 watts to hover then it is 63/150 = 0.42 hour, 60x0.42= 25.2 minutes. To actually achieve this would be pretty well impossible in the same way as manufacturers car...

    WARNING!!!! 9443 carbon propellers!!

Irrespective of what props you have you never want to descend straight down fast as it will descend into its own rotor wash and do what you experienced, the only way to safely descend fast is to keep moving horizontally as you do it. This is why DJI limit the descent rate on the Phantom 2.

    Transmitter won't work

Try what Noiseboy said, check the camera and monitor are set the same either PAL or NTSC, having this wrong will cause this sort of issue. Generally US is NTSC and UK, AUS use PAL, the reality is it won't matter that much for video playback.

    Yaw - It's spinning itself!

I just managed to fix mine, I noticed the compass was not changing on the on screen display, even when it had rotated 180 it was still telling me 0 deg. I took it home and pulled the top of and checked everything, no loose wires or plugs so put it back together, I then connect the DJI Assistant...

    Avoid exceeding legal max altitude

Soulnet Even as a commercial flyer I cannot fly in controlled airspace without permission from CASA and a NOTAM issued, even in the vicinity of an aerodrome (10nm) It is advisable though not mandated that I advise the tower of what I am doing even though I am limited to 400ft AGL, within 3nm if...

    Avoid exceeding legal max altitude

Ok, lets clarify this, look at the last 2 lines of your comments; 1. In controlled airspace, WHICH COVERS MOST AUSTRALIAN CITIES....... 2. You should not fly closer than 5.5km from an airfield. I agree that these are fairly simplistic but this is what you posted from the CASA website, the...

    Avoid exceeding legal max altitude

TheloniousMac, I spent a whole day reading and studying the regulations so I do know and understand them. After asking some questions I agree there is some ambiguity in all this and in effect you are partially right in that technically you can fly above 400ft in uncontrolled airspace which is...

    Avoid exceeding legal max altitude

TheloniousMac, In regards to your first paragraph I have been studying the CASA regulations amongst other things solidly for the last 2 weeks, in fact at the time today when I looked at your response telling me I was absolutely wrong I was sat in a room with 4 qualified and CASA approved...

    Avoid exceeding legal max altitude

ThelonoiusMac, To clarify, in Australia you are restricted to 400ft AGL in controlled airspace which is pretty well most of Australia, and you cannot fly within 3nm of a registered, certified or military airfield as noted in ERSA. The ONLY exception to this would be as a fully licensed operator...
