They are correct, the app is not supported on the 4. I had the same issue. The camera will work but not Like it is designed to with the app. Went to an iPad mini and then upgraded to a 5s, no problems after that. Good luck!

Have been trying to source a stock light and pigtail. Figure I will mod it in at just tap into one of the led/mc boards. Seems easy enough, just can't seem to find stock part.
