Did you counterweight the Hero4 at all? I flew a few times with no counterweight and it performed fine, but with the gimbal powered off, it definitely tilts more than with the Hero3. I taped a coin to the side of the gimbal motor, as I had done quite a few times when using the Hero3 with a ND...
Tape some coins to the side and back of the gimbal to counter-weigh the neutral density filter. Some claim that not attempting to balance it out will put extra strain on the gimbal motors, others say they've been doing it to no ill effect.
I always keep a backup set of 4 in my Phantom's carrying case.
A very vague ballpark for you is that I had a set last for a month of use, flying once or twice per day; that's in line with a previous reply saying ~20hr
I'd suggest watching some YouTube video tutorials on it (or on using the software of your choice). There's a lot of them out there and YouTube is free!
If you don't mind spending a bit of money, companies like Lynda and Digital Tutors produce pretty high-quality video tutorials on all manner of...
Good to know! I haven't tried it myself. Personally I don't mind having to charge the GoPro if it means not having the leg in the shot. And I don't need/use FPV so that's not an issue for me, either.
Nope, there's no good programs for video editing. None at all.
But really, off the top of my head:
Apple Final Cut
Apple iMovie
Adobe Premiere
Camtasia
Windows Movie Maker
Oh what the heck, here you go:

This has been discussed before. It's a poor design of the gimbal, because the gopro lens is not centered, it's offset to the left, allowing the left leg to enter the frame on strong gusts of wind or hard turning to the right. Try flipping the GoPro upside down.
Re: TRAVEL WARNING: Don't take your drone with you, even tou
I had no problems going into and out of Italy, nor flying in Italy (archaeological sites). Don't try flying in cities.
I had paperwork from the archaeological superintendencies and my university on hand just in case though.
I've had...
I'm still on the first set of 4 props that came with the phantom. 3 months and probably 75+ flights and they're still performing fine. No crashes or wonky behavior. They ARE covered in bug blood though.
My guess, without seeing any video and without a clear description of the crash behaviour, is that it was caused by the altitude... thin air. Did the drone drop like a rock? Or did it slowly descend and then crash?
John Shaw's reply on the first page seems very reasonable to me.
You could always just batch correct the photos in PS later by flipping all 180-degrees. Same with video in whatever video editing software.
It's an extra step, but I'd be willing if it got rid of the stupid landing-gear sticking into the frame all the time.
And yes, OI photo is correct, too...
Is it necessary to plug the micro-USB plug from the gimbal into the GoPro?
I've never tried flying with it unplugged, so I have no idea if the gimbal will act wonky if its not plugged in. Seems like it's only there to charge the GoPro?
Should be able to install the GoPro upside-down, and just...
