Oh no, first the Mavic now the Spark

I think of the Spark the way I think of my GoPro cameras. If size/weight/ruggedness aren't a factor, I'll take a DSLR or full feature 4K video camera. When they are, I make do with the GoPro. Same with the Spark. I'll get one for hiking/biking and getting some cool shots in State Parks etc

A harsh first day in my journey into FPV Racing...

First time I flew my 250, I got her stuck in a tree for a day and a half. Eventually lost her in a lake. Hope to recover the SD card from that one some day. Have fun flying your toy! Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

Found DJI Phantom Professional Pt. Dume Area Malibu

I just want to say "thank you" for putting in the effort to try and return it. Really speaks to your character. Shame the owner didn't have it marked properly. Best wishes Doodle! Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

using the Drone around the railroads

My state, NV, actually has legislation basically stating that you can fly a UAS over private property as long as you are over 250' high. Anyway. The point is that the BNSF officers who originally confronted the OP don't have the backing of the law or the company it would seem. Sent from my...

using the Drone around the railroads

So, I got a response from Todd Graetz who is the head of the UAS program for BNSF railroad. I know this is an old thread but.... Anyway, I asked if there were any special regulations that apply to flying UAS near the railroads. This was his response: "Simply stated, do not fly over private...

    Thoughts on GoPro Karma?

I am interested in the Karma, but only if it's rugged. I've got several GoPro cameras and I'm just not really nice to them. They get wet, scratched, dropped etc. They also keep working. If the Karma is ANYTHING like that, I'll get one. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I notice a lack...

    GoPro Karma Release

What I'm looking for is ruggedness from the Karma. I abuse my GoPros and they just keep working. I abuse my 250 quad and all I replace is the props and I'm back up. That's what could make the Karma a competitor. If I can run it into a tree, change the props and put it back up, I'll start saving...

    GoPro Karma Release

I've abused GoPro products for about 5 years and I've not broken one yet so I'm hopeful on the build quality. As for "idiots". We need to remember that the folks who have been building and flying RC aircraft for decades undoubtedly realize that many of us (flying ready built machines) are the...

UAS Operator "could" be in hot water for busting TFR

I don't know trackman but I'm betting it was more likely someone who bought it off the shelf and put it up. I was coordinating to have two birds in the air for a local balloon event (with the coordinators of the event) but I can't do it now. They were very friendly and easy to work with. I'm...

    Staying away from Crowds

Since you asked for how people interpret the provision on crowds... I don't know how many people in how small an area makes a crowd, but I think I know one when I see it. Under ideal conditions, (weather, lack of birds, lots of satellites etc) I get as close as 100' at 400' altitude for short...
