Be careful of helicopters even when below 400 feet

FWIW, you can search the N Number and identify the owner. Then start googling the owner or business. Doing so shows that his tourism service pilot has been before an FAA judge for safety violations. Easy to see why. This video however, is from 2010.

Be careful of helicopters even when below 400 feet

It's incredibly rare that an ASI would investigate a low-flying heli, and they'd likely require video to demonstrate the 91.13 violation should it exist. https://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/atl/local_more/media/nlowfly.pdf Note at the bottom of the complaint form, the very...

Be careful of helicopters even when below 400 feet

You're sure enough of your position to put it to the test?;) Under any circumstances, a collision between a UAV and a heli will likely be found against the UAV. The only exception that comes to mind is if the heli pilot chooses to chase a drone, and incident that would fall under FAR § 91.13...

DJI-Sponsored "Best Practices in UAV Cinematography

There are 2 seats in PDX, as I've just been informed. @CactusJackSlade, San Diego is the only "more southern" west coast from LAX (so far as my geography knows) unless you're in Mexico. We're in LAX this coming Thursday.

Talk me out of the Typhoon H

Actually, there is. I own both P4 and Typhoon H. Both are excellent drones, but the Sense and Avoid on the Yuneec is significantly better/smarter than the DJI, regardless of what the fanboyz say. I also own a Tornado, S1000, two 3DR Solo's, multiple Phantoms 1/3. Not a fanboy for anyone. If I...

DJI-Sponsored "Best Practices in UAV Cinematography

Nah....I've got NEXUS too, and they've had no issue with me flying out for a night or even morning out/evening in on WestJet or Air Canada (I lived in Toronto until a few months ago). Cheap cheap flights to Vegas. I look forward to the Toronto folks giving me the date. I *think* we're going to...

So some idiot shot my phantom3 advanced WITH 22.

It's a shame Google doesn't work for you. I suggest you subscribe to the myriad UAV law blogs, Rupprecht, Sachs, Pillsbury, and others. The cases are there. The names are there. The filings, albeit only the New Jersey case is complete, are there. It's part of my job to monitor this industry...

Proof of which? That it's illegal to inhibit the flight of a drone? Already showed it to you, you're simply too lazy to read. Proof of the arrest for shooting down a drone? Let me google that for you Not my fault nor responsibility to educate your illiteracy. If you are unwilling to read...

So some idiot shot my phantom3 advanced WITH 22.

Let me get this straight...you have an opinion, one founded on whatever you're pulling out of your ***. You're provided the legal documents, AND the Civil Code (which is only a couple of pages) that you're unwilling to read, and due to your unwillingness to read, the federal code is BS? That...

So some idiot shot my phantom3 advanced WITH 22.

EVERYTHING IN THE ABOVE POST IS FALSE. The overall law does not need to be read/written into the article, because anyone who knows the smallest bit of information about aviation law understands that drones are codified as aircraft. There is no legal difference between a UAV and a Cessna 182 or...

So some idiot shot my phantom3 advanced WITH 22.

I haven't read the entire thread, but the law is very clear on this matter. OF COURSE you have rights, major rights. First and foremost, it is a federal offense, so be sure the Sheriff of the parish knows this. Second, a federal marshal should be called in. Third, the FAA needs to be notified...
