Hello, I havent been on the forum for awhile, just wondering if you found some good spots to fly?

Its good to be respectful, but in my experience most people dont pay alot of attention. Empty parking lots on a weekend etc are a good option. (like at a corporate office etc), but be prepared to be approached by their security if they have it. Its rare, but could happen. Not that youre doing...

It sort of depends what you want to do. There are some spots around Overland Park and Leawood with some open areas. Are you looking to just fly or photograph things (buildings etc?) If you just need an open area to fly there are some spots along 69/159th and south of there. If you go down along...

Im not sure of the original intent of this thread (racing, regular flying, etc), what kind of flying are you looking to do? Youre close to several airports in Olathe so be careful. Are you part 107 or hobbyist?

    Litchi, soft exit from orbit

Ive never used this. In the past Ive just waypoints around an object and rounded the corners. This looks cool though.

Thats a good idea. I used to do that before I knew about orbit, that might work. Thanks!

    Litchi, soft exit from orbit

Thanks GrammatonxXXxCleric, I think youre right. I dont see a way to do it seamlessly. Youre right Eagle54, that would be a very nice tool! Maybe someone will develop it soon.

Litchi success but have a few questions

Youre absolutely right, there are many people doing it. Enforcement is very up to speed yet, but the main point is, if it falls out of the sky and hurts someone, then they would likely start looking for you. To fly under the Special Rule for Model Aircraft you must: Fly for hobby or recreation...

    Litchi, soft exit from orbit

Does anyone know, in litchi, if I fly an orbit, is there some way, or setting to exit the orbit after one or more revolutions and say, fly to a waypoint or something?

Litchi success but have a few questions

Litchi has camera view just like Go. BTW, you are aware that going beyond the range of the controller (beyond line of sight) is illegal, right?

    Newby - Part 107 - Best Study Site/Materials?

Jarrett, not sure when you plan to test, but I just took mine after only self study. One of the best sites that helped me was this- https://3dr.com/faa/drone-practice-tests/ Got an 88%, but you really have to understand it.

Latest Litchi update has new features.

Yea, I tried it on my phone with DJI Go but the screen is pretty small. It wasnt extremely responsive either. Maybe Ill test it out on the tablet. I think mine is an LG G4 maybe.

Latest Litchi update has new features.

CharlieU, Is there a good reason Litchi would need GPS? Im not even sure Im asking the correct question so let me explain a little. I had trouble with the "follow me" feature in DJI Go and someone here told me if the device doesnt have cellular it wont have GPS, which follow me needs. So my iPad...

Latest Litchi update has new features.

So if I plan a mission in the mission hub, then export (doing this on my PC), can I then import the mission into the Litchi app on the iPad? Or is this simply mission planning to check terrain etc?
