The medical certificate is certainly over-kill for flying drones.
I have had to get one every six months for the last 44 years. When I started it cost me $25.00. My last one in March was $185.00 because being older and having to do the EKG.
Leave it up to the FAA to probably one day to...
Yes, I know not required. I guess I meant to ask more about pilots that are working/employed by companies that might require their pilots to have a FAA medical certificate.
I have been seeing a big percentage of companies online requiring it.

Those of you that are flying as Part 107 Commercial sUAV Pilots, are you getting a FAA medical certificates?
Originally, the FAA wanted every Commercial Pilot, sUAV or manned aircraft pilot to have a 2nd or 1st Class Medical Certificate.
Obviously, if you are already a manned aircraft pilot...
If this is legit, then the real issue will be "finding" a motel that will have rooms available the closer you get to the work area. That may be harder to find than 107 pilots to go.
My guess having a camper that will be about the only way to get within 100 miles to help with recovery.
I would...
Any chance you could let us see the video, other than facebook, I do not do facebook.
When I lived in El Paso, we would go there and give certifications in various scuba courses. Great park in the middle of nowhere!

Hoovermaneuver:
Questions?
You say purchased on Amazon in November 16, was that through an Authorized DJI Dealer?
Was there a Warranty/Service Plan purchased thru DJI?
Have you updated the aircraft to the latest "suspect" Firmware? if so, any issues?
Interested!
Thanks,
edspilot
Yes, sad. BTW, where are/were you located? Normal temps in your area or was this an abnormal day of temps?
If I only wanted to ever use the DJI Go Apps, then I would get the CrystalSky, it has a built in fan to help solve the heat issue.
Questions?
Where did you originally purchase the P4 from & Date?
Have you updated to the latest "suspect" Firmware?
Have updated the controller Firmware?
Interested!

Have you checked into the national companies that need/use local drone operators?
BetterView & Drone Base are a couple. They provide the jobs and you select if you want to to them.
Search this site, there are several that "work" their respective areas.
Worth a try, if you have not already...
Some common questions people looking might want to know from the seller:
1) When was it purchased?
2) Where was it purchased from?
3) From an Authorized dealer?
4) Warranty/Service still valid?
5) Any crashes or "dunks?"
Just saves you having to answer later.
Interested.
