    HELP! in Kauai, Hawaii

Yes ifly. But without a little help I'm afraid all the beautiful scenery will stay only in my memory. (but not to worry, I have a home in Kauai and plan to return this coming winter again)

    HELP! in Kauai, Hawaii

I am here till May 16. I'm new and have only about half hour flying time on my P3S. If there is someone on the island that can help me I would really appreciate it. Let's fly! EL

Standard Will not work in different state

All is well msinger. I had airplane mode to *ON*. It should have been set to OFF. I was having problems connecting to wifi. But too late, lol, as I've packed up the P3S in its case, getting ready to fly home Wed. morning.

Standard Will not work in different state

If I set up my P3S to fly in my home and decided to go to another state will I have to do anything different to get my aircraft to fly? I'm in Hawaii on vacation. I brought my drone with me. But I can't get it to work.

Drone confiscated, arrested, put on trial, found guilty, never visit this country!

Just another hell hole of a corrupt country to avoid as a tourist.

    New User From Hawaii

HI Bob, isn't Mauna Lani that gated community on a golf course on the NW side of BI? Never been there, in fact the only place I've been on that side of the island lately is Kona airport and Costco nearby. Many, many years ago I used to fly as a crew member on a now defunct airline. We flew...

What part of the island you stay Bob? I'll be arriving Kona on Nov. 7th. My house is in Hawaiian Beaches, Pahoa. I've only flown my P3S one time. And for only a few minutes. Not many places once can fly a drone in a crowded city. So looking forward to the wide open spaces of the island.

    OH NO!!!

Roy, and that is exactly my point. It all depends on who's behind the desk. Glad you're experience was finally resolved. I plan to follow all the suggestions, such as the terminal issue. I think I'll be fine. And btw, I'm always early. After flying a gazillion miles around the globe, I've...

    OH NO!!!

Never! I am as quiet as a mouse. I never, ever, draw attention to myself. But I have also been to many foreign countries where the law sits behind the desk. I just hope that doesn't happen on the way there, or on the way back. Let me tell 'ya a little story. Because I am on a permanent...

    OH NO!!!

All meaningless. The final ok is from the person behind the desk. That's all. That person at that time is the law. Doesn't matter what the real law, or policy, or regulations or rules are. It's all up to the guy behind the desk. It's like traveling to any foreign country. The law sits...

    OH NO!!!

Thank you, you are correct. I shall do all that. I am booking trip right now. Aloha from San Jose, and aloha from Pahoa, Big Island of Hawaii Nov. 7. ps, anyone know any Phantom pilots on the Hilo side I can hook up with?

    OH NO!!!

Unfortunately, HA does not fly direct San Jose, CA to Kona. They can get me there only if I layover several hours in either Maui or Honolulu. Besides, with Alaska I pay only $99 r/t for my wife. btw, here is what TSA says: "The final decision rests with TSA on whether to allow any items on...

    OH NO!!!

The link is so large that I can't see the entire text. Maybe it's my computer, I don't know. So I went to the site and it's still a little confusing. No matter, I'll go by what telephone Alaska Air cust. service said, that it is ok as long as it's carry-on.

    OH NO!!!

I just talked on the phone to Alaska Customer Service Rep who verified with his supervisor that it is OK to take drone and battery as long as it is carry-on (of course carry-on, I don't trust those baggage handlers with my drone) *and* it is not attached to the drone. I explained it will be in...

    OH NO!!!

Can someone read through this governmentese language? Where does the drone battery fit in in all these explanations?
