There is absolutely no proof of this. Lots of threads with cracks in the later shells. Still, cracking is rare in the general population.

I have an old crappy one from Best Buy with the prehistoric motors. Hundred + hours, a zillion miles, and never a glitch, flaw ,crack, or complaint. I'd return it.

What are you talking about? I fly all the time and it's routinely between 7°F and 20°F. My P3 hauls *** in the frigid air, no complaints. I marvel at this amazing machine every time I fly. Go fly, be happy. There are more important things to be upset about in this world.

My question is, why do auto takeoff? Nothing could be easier than manually lifting off the ground.

Aerobatics?? Sorry you crashed. A sticks down and in or out (CSC maneuver) to shut off the quadcopter is well known. Have to ask, why on Earth are you trying to perform aerobatics with a camera equipped quadcopter? It's not built or intended for that.
