I am in the same boat... I have a dead H3-2D RMA to them and I can't get an update or status out of anyone. E-mails go unanswered outside of the Zendesk auto responder... ugh.
I am feeling your pain... My H3-2D died on the last flight in mid air. It will provide power to the GoPro, but won't fire either motor and I tried all resets, not working at all. I am waiting on customer service to respond too.
I would highly recommend flying with a LiPo voltage / alarm. I have mine set at 3.6V and when it fires the audible alarm, you can definitely hear it and I have plenty of time to bring the bird down and land safely...
Yep... Far western suburbs here too. There is a Chicago chapter of Drone Users Group as well. Upcoming fly-in on May 8.

I can confirm as long as you mimic the SSID by changing the last number up or down by 1, but keep the same format you can use the FC40 app on IOS just like on Android with an extender. Have done it through a Tenda A6 and Amped SR10000. You just have to connect the new SSID from the extender on...
Sorry was away from the boards for a few days. I made the same mistake with my first H32D order as well. The return was simple and I got the full Zenmuse kit for the $10 more with the cables and the GCUv1. If you just ordered the 8 pin cable, you will be out of luck. You need the PMUv1 and...
The A6 is USB mini powered at 5V. You can do a power tap with a step down from 12V to 5V to power it from the LiPo or you can use any number of the small external battery packs on the market that let you power a USB device.
I spent many days trying to fake the Vision Repeater out with custom generated QR codes. Yes, as people have confirmed it doesn't work. I have two alternate solutions I use.
I have a Tenda A6 USB ultra portable repeater I can fly on the Phantom to get 250mw of extra repeating power. When I...
All great advice... I also put on lexan extensions to my Phantom that really make tipping over much hard to do front to back. Agree with hovering and then coming down.
I sure will. I am dying to get out and fly. It is still freezing cold here in Chicago. Looks like Sunday maybe nice enough with good winds. Stay tuned. I will make a post.
AJ replied to your PM as well, but only thing I added was a tilt control lever to the transmitter. Not required, but worthy upgrade and all it requires is unscrewing the back, slotting in the control pin to the tilt control screw and closing up. No soldering required.
I am using a step down DC/DC converter that adds very little weight. 6 grams for the unit and the USB cable. It is power tapped off the XT60 battery connector Y I have inside that also powers the Gimble.
When I crack back open the Phantom I will take some pictures of it. Here is the DC/DC...
