Don't forget that the FAA's main beef is flying for compensation, not hobby or park flyers. Flying a quad is no different than flying a helicopter, fixed wing, gliders, etc. Where we've gone astray is with the terminology. Drones, UAV, UAS, blah, blah, blah. We're still flying model aircraft...

Not surprised DJI doesn't offer that feature on their OSD. I asked them about having an option to change from metric to imperial for those of us in the USA and they basically told me to go pound sand. I'm becoming less and less of a DJI fan even though I really like my P2.

You're absolutely correct. I'm going to pull the GoPro tomorrow and run more tests.

No iOSD installed. The video comes out of the GoPro, through the Zenmuse, into the Phantom bus and back out to the transmitter.

Correct, I realize it's not HD. I was just trying to make a general comparison (maybe a bad one) to looking at a standard channel vs. a high-def channel. The video off the Phantom look clean and sharp, run it through the Zenmuse and Phantom and it looks a lot worse.
