Anyone found the full Mavic instruction guide online?

I see why they asked; I'm sure they are fixing the typos and the weird translations to English. Still, thanks for posting, answered a lot of questions and really fun to read while we wait! Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

    Practicing for Emergencies

No, this was a sudden failure. As in, went from 70% charge, all normal to "not enough battery to RTH, landing now" in a matter of seconds. And even there, it cut out before it could descend 200 feet. Hardware issue, not operator error. Verified by telemetry as DJI covered the repair. (Maybe...

Anyone selling their P3 Pro to get a Mavic?

Craigslist. Sold it for $699 with the extra battery. (They are $999 new with two batteries from DII right now.) Most of the other Pros on Craigslist were listed ridiculously close to retail. It was in perfect condition. Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

Anyone selling their P3 Pro to get a Mavic?

Yep. I was set and even excited to get a Karma. (The removable gimbal is brilliant.) But as compact as it is, it's dramatically larger than the Mavic - almost twice as long - whereas the Mavic will fit in the accessories compartment of my DSLR backpack. Plus I just have a feeling DJI's...

Anyone selling their P3 Pro to get a Mavic?

Sold mine this week and ordered the Mavic. Not 100% sure the Mavic will match my P3P's photo quality, but there have been so many opportunities I've missed because the P3P was too large to bring along with my camera... Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

    Practicing for Emergencies

When real pilots spend time in simulators or flight training, they spend a lot of their time practicing for emergencies. With 2 years of drone piloting behind me, I ran into a situation July 4 where my battery level suddenly dropped significantly, RTH wasn't an option (literally X'd out on the...

IOS App return-to-home Altitude not saving

But did it retain the value after turning the Phantom and controller on and off? That is, after you turn everything off and unplug the battery and go to fly another day, does the RTH value revert to default, or remain at the value that you last saved? Given that the default value is barely...

    Awesome iOS Lightning cable... (Seriously)

Has anyone found a similarly high-quality 1-foot Micro USB cable? I'd like to get one for my Moto G "emergency backup display" device. The Cambond (http://amzn.to/1IZJXJx) is only available in 6' length.

    Tips for Newbies ......

Actually, the automatic takeoff feature works really well. It's good to know how to safely take off manually, but the auto take-off feature is the only automation I regularly use. Autoland worked well the one time I tried it, but the P3 control is soooo precise that I've had no issues greasing...

    Tips for Newbies ......

Prop guards are the same between P2 and P3. If you get third-party guards, make sure the screws aren't too long or they can disrupt/break the motors.

    Total Control Innovations or Coptershop?

CopterShop is my local shop. Good people. I even bit the bullet and paid sales tax to buy from them.

    Check your RTH Height

Yeah, I wonder if it survives power-cycles.

    Tips for Newbies ......

Here's a tip for newbies: The tops of the control sticks can be lengthened -- the upper halves are adjustable like screws. If you move them out a bit, you can make more precise maneuvers. Also, haven't been back to my Phantom to try this yet, but apparently to access bracketed exposures...

IOS App return-to-home Altitude not saving

That sure makes me nervous, given the too-low default of 30m and the trees in my area that are 35m+. If you set it and leave the screen, has anyone tested that it does stick until you power off or go back to that screen?
