    Log books

I bought this while we were pursuing our 333 application. Still using it under 107, though it has a column or two that are 333 specific. I like the idea of using digital logbook, but if ever questioned by authorities, I'd rather hand them a $9 paperback than my relatively new iPad.

I see what you did there.

Arrested and jailed 13 days in Cuba for flying a drone

Thank you! I watched and kept waiting for the part where he asked someone if it was okay to fly. Seems like his 'friend' would have said something. But, no. He's lucky to be home at all.

Don't have it yet, but IACRA has updated my Airman Information with a number and Remote Pilot rating. So maybe soon!

Commercial use of photos shot recreationally, before 107

I'm perusing some photos that were taken back in April, recreationally (nice lake shots at a church camp). No one has seen them but me, and they've sat on my hard drive since. In the meantime, I passed my 107, and have my temporary, waiting on the permanent. Now I have a potential commercial...

    FAA: Myths vs Facts Webinar

Thanks Al. I was traveling when this was live and missed it. But now I haven't!

    My personal rant . . .

Oh, I agree. Over people not part of the flight team is not an option. Ever. I was more interested in when you're flying around an event, what you consider a safe minimum distance to be.

    My personal rant . . .

Maybe it's just me, but link says video unavailable... did they get caught and take it down? Nickster and Al, for the side shots mentioned, what do you consider a safe distance? With or without spotters? And let me say up front, I'm all about safety as well, so not trying to pick a fight - just...

Check your NOTAMs - glad I did.

Yeah, that looks to be it.

Check your NOTAMs - glad I did.

Understand. I've got the website as a favorite so it's quick to access from my iPad just before takeoff.

Check your NOTAMs - glad I did.

It actually showed up on B4UFly, which I checked (kinda for the fun of it) before I checked the website. It also shows on UAVForecast app, and iFlightPlanner.com, but I haven't tried the iFlightPlanner app yet. Sadly, B4UFly doesn't give any information about it at all. Even the number it...

Check your NOTAMs - glad I did.

So a client wants some early morning shots of their building... no problem. I'm up, dressed, fed, gear packed, checked the weather... go to check NOTAMs and I find this 6/1495 NOTAM Details It's several miles away from where I will be operating - but it wasn't there when I flew Sunday. EPA...

    Richmond VA drone operator needed

Internal, meaning within the CR group? Or within the walls of the church? It may matter. If you're promoting a ministry, even within the church, there is an implied 'ask' for the audience / congregation to support that ministry financially or otherwise. There's no product or service, in the...

Stranded Crash On Business Building (No permission to access property)

Makes me sad too. Hope he finds another job soon. Probably won't go out of his way to help someone at the next one.
