Welcome to the wonderful world of DJI, awesome drones. I too am in the Greenville SC area. There was a drone group on Facebook in the Greenville area, I joined that about 2 years ago but I haven't seen any activity with the group.

I have a Goodman too, works very well even in really bright sunlight.

I think a lot of pilots mistake a lot of things for drones. DJI needs to fix these problems before the idiots who don't care get drones banned.

They are able to disable the 500 meter max altitude too?

That is true, but isn't DJI the only consumer drone that has range that can go that far?

How is this even possible if DJI limits their drones to 1500 ft?
