Just briefly reading through this, I’d say your next step is to see if the controller and drone link, and the what error messages you might get on screen. Also, sending to DJI for an estimate may be a good option. You will also be dealing with RID as that P4P is V1 (version 1)
Tks for the update. I’ve replaced a P4P shell before but never thought about this. Each leg has an antenna. The drone obviously needs a signal from the TX and needs to transmit the 2.4 and 5.8 MHz video and data info. Wonder which does what.
Send it to DJI for an estimate. If the
price is right, pay them. From what I’ve read and in my experience, they don’t actually repair your drone. They swap yours with a refurbished one. RID is a factor to consider though.
Forgot to mention, good catch on the non OEM DJI props. Very good probable cause of this failure. So many things need to work properly to keep these safely in the air. Batteries and props being what we can easily monitor and control. Others reading this thread should take note..
Yes, it would seem there has been time for your message to make it to the 'appropriate' people. Let all us V1 owners know if/when you hear back. Is the a link to the thread on the DJI forum?
My V1 had an odd occasional GPS issue that was becoming more frequent before I sent it into DJI for repair. They confirmed the issue in an email before sending back a new replacement. Pretty sure I posted a thread on it if you want to check. Seems like the prop split while in flight. My advice...
I can only assume it has to do with the Light Bridge vs Ocusync technology. Many V1 owners out here (including myself) wondering the the same and wishing they would update the V1 firmware also.
Though I'm not one to throw parts at a problem, after checking the wire connections, a new set of gear legs might be the least expensive attempt of a repair. There is a small circuit board where the wire snaps in place on the leg. Maybe the hard landing made an issue that didn't show up right...
I'd pose that question to a tech rep at DJI. Don't know if that an acceptable method or not.
Were your batteries fully charged, fully discharged, or somewhere in the middle before you left them set and go bad..
If you haven't changed the setting, they are all pre-programmed to discharge into...
