May I ask why you feel it’s standard procedure to lower the altitude of the quad as it’s returning? I wouldn’t even include that in the operating procedure. Of course the drone can be lowered when you have it close to you in sight (duh). I also don’t advocate using auto return all the time as...
Not all issues require downloading flight logs. I for one, know this is a remote calibration issue because I've dealt with this before. The OP will need to calibrate the remote using the Go 4 APP and he'll be off and flying again

That happens all the time. I don't like relying on RTH. Just stop, leave the drone hovering where it is as long as it is in a safe place and restart the App.
This is a very interesting case. It's not often we see the loss of a aircraft that was not due in some way to operator error. It appears this was some sort of transmitter error and I hope DJI does something to help the OP. I will follow this and please keep us updated.

Have you CRASHED? Did your battery fall out?
Unfortunately the police don't always know what to do when it comes to drone flying. They will sometimes visit the drone flyer and give then grief. There are many YouTube videos out there to prove it. The OP has a right to be concerned.
I'm on a Samsung S7 phone. The APP crashes every other time I fly. As a matter of fact with the last Samsung update the APP no longer works with my Spark. There are many different Android devices and each manufacturer puts their own little stamp on the operating system. Too many variations for...
