OK, think I found the problem..... the grey ribbon cable. It's intermittant. Apparently that one outside conductor carries a data signal of some kind. If the gimbal indicator is not working, you camera will probably not record either. I'm ording a new cable today.

Well, I needed a good card anyhow. I'll probably end up sending the gimbal/camera assy. back to DJI. Nothing makes much sense at this point.

Good luck on finding much technical information on the P3. As you may know, even if you have test equipment, without some schematics your not going to fix it. I've been looking for the same thing.

I replaced the flex cable and now everything EXCEPT the gimbal works. I can't understand why it appears that in all cases I noted on the Internet, all the motors either work or all of them don't. There must be a common element there. I believe there's two data buses that pass through that gray...

Much is not known about these gimbals. In all the gimbal failures I noted, all of them fail together. Unless it's power, how can ALL of them fail at the same time.

The common parts that get broke in a crash are the gimbal cable and the black and gray wire. The black and gray cables are actually coax cables that carry the wifi signal from the gimbal assy. to the antennas in the drone body. They are cheap to buy, but almost impossible to fix. There's no block diagram as to what signals go where, it's feel as you go. I'm sure most of you on here know far more than I.

Well, I'm not convinced ....yet that my WIFI module is on the gimbal board. There's a module of some kind on the main board inside the drone, that's shielded and has two coax cables on it.
