Negative. I used a dremel to make the hole bigger.
On a side note, I'm grounded... turns out the H3-3d I got was meant for non phantoms. In other words, it came with a GCU (not needed with the P2) and no Anti-Interference Board. Ugh.
Also not at all happy with the flimsy ribbon that connects...
Great question. Hoping someone can chime in. I too just upgraded my phantom 2 from an hd2d to a 3d, and am not happy with the way it's now flying. Very wobbly and jerky.
I am happy to report that since ordering the Circular Wireless 5.8ghz FPV Antenna - Helical along with a clover leaf, on AVL channel 8 and 5802 Channel c-1, my range and image issues are GONE! YAY! I did notice (placebo perhaps) that placing the helical on "antenna A" and the CL on "Antenna B"...

I have no idea what channel it is on the avl58 to be honest with you. Since the avl58 only has 8, I just pressed the button until a good clear signal came through. It only took a minute being as all of the avl58 channels are on the C group within the 5802
I manually tuned to c-1 by pressing the channel button on the monitor. I then cycled through the avl58 channels by pressing the button on the bottom of the transmitted until a image appeared on the monitor.
I'll be Damned! I did what Gary suggested and tuned my AVL58 to Channel C-1 on the LCD5802, and put my helical on the Ant A, and the CL on Ant B. Guess what? I'm now able to go to nearly 1.5k with a solid image! Maybe it was abad channel match-up before on C-8. Thanks Gary! Now...what to do with...
My wife is going to kill me... I just ordered the Heliaxial58 from circular wireless (Same antenna you're using). Hell if I can get range numbers like you observed in your last flight, I'm golden!
Edit: I hope I didn't get ripped off. Here's the antenna I just bought off of ebay...
Interesting. I'm grateful you started this thread. I'm remaining optimistic that we'll both find an acceptable solution. Here are the antenna's I am using on top of the LCD5802. On the AVL58 I have a matching Blue Beam Clover leaf. Now its got me wondering if the 3 turn helical I am using isnt...
AWESOME! That's great news! Can you take a picture of the antennas you are using on the monitor and AVL58? Were you using diversity on the above flight? Finally, what channel combo are you now using?
I just just went out on a limb and purchased a standalone AVL58 receiver. My setup only came with the transmitter, hence my reason for needing a diversity monitor. When it arrives, it will be interesting to see if my range improves using the AVL58 receiver as opposed to the internal Boscam...
I see videos on youtube of people getting over 1000k using the AVL58 with clover leaf antennas. In facct I have the same antennas AND a turn spiral on RecB on the diversity.

Other than GhostWriter saying he can get over...
Thanks GhostMaster ! Hearing you can get 2k with the 5802 makes me feel better. Sounding more and more like the avl58 is the main culprit. I'm using high grade clover leaf antennas along with a directional spiral plane for receiver B on the 5802.
