Retired American expat living in Hungary and enjoying the splendors of living on Lake Balaton in the Center of Europe. Retired from US Army as a Microbiologist with 40 years combined active duty (28 years) and civil service (same job and same lab). Married to a wonderful Russian (naturalized American citizen for 25 years) who is a professional photographer and the drone was her idea to get me into her realm of photography. I am a licensed Private pilot as well as having my International Certificate of Competence as a skipper for sail and motor yachts. Living on the largest lake in Europe gives a wonderful opportunity to fly my DJI Phantom 4 without any serious restrictions. Being I am now too old to fly safely (vision problems) I am able to fly with my drone. I am also an avid mountain biker and a certified Snowboarding instructor and also worked 20 years as a Senior Ski Patroller. I am hoping to test the drone in the Alps this winter. I also have a Xiaomi Yi2 (which has fantastic imaging capabilities coupled to a 3 axis wearable gimbal. My plan is to merge video from drones to the handheld camera shots. Now, all I have to do is learn how to edit videos.
