What issues did you have with the 8 HD? Stability? In my limited amount of playing around with the one my wife got our grandson it seems peppy enough. But the bastardized Android version is concerning. I thought the new 10 had the same OS though. 10 seems really big and heavy for a monitor...
It was out in the middle of nowhere. Was looking for deer in the snow. Had visual on the drone the majority of the time, just had to go the other side of a ridge where I know deer have hung out in the past.
I've got the DBS mod installed, so it does 4000' pretty easily.
Thanks for the opinion.
My DJI Go app crashed on my phone yesterday when the AC was approx 4000' away. Wasn't 100% sure what action to take, finally decided to restart the App and see what would happen. Was a little afraid it would set a new Home Point, but things were fine when the app came back up. Was prepared to...
The display device you use doesn't affect the range (baring any unforseen interference generating). Range is dependent on the controller and the antenna in the drone itself.
i might mess around with an Amazon Fire 8 HD, now that one can be had for $59. Would have to sideload the APK for DJI...
It doesn't look clean with the threaded insert? I've got one ordered, didn't like the idea of screwing the mount directly into the plastic.
What don't you like about the insert? Does it stick up above the level of the controller or something?
Nice capture. Did you know the deer were there already or did you spot them live view while flying?
I know I never would've been able to pick them out live. But I'm using a Galaxy phone to run DJI Go on. I'm sure a tablet would be a nice improvement. Adding the Inspire holder is the next mod...
I've been spared so far from doing a motor replacement so I'm not sure what's involved. Any way it could be installed incorrectly or is keyed in one position?
Anyhow, here's that Youtube video that helped me.
Just had this issue with my Standard. Check the set screw that holds the gimbal to the shaft. If it comes loose you'll get the behavior in the OP. It's a 1.5mm hex head. You need to recenter the set screw on the flat side of the shaft, and center it vertically so the arm doesn't rub on the shelf...
