Must have been like a pinball machine experience. I looked at that map in Street View. There's more trees and overhead power lines than I would ever fly into with a sluggish P3, even at high noon much less in the dark. Be glad you just have some cheap broken plastic to replace.
FW Version 1.06.8 drew numerous complaints from those who upgraded from 1.05.7. My 1st P3S came with 1.06.8 installed but it upgraded to 1.07.9 before I became confident enough to push it to to the limit. Frankly, I had no problem reaching 1000 meters on any day with either FW version. The only...
Thanks. I was aware of the AIO nature of the firmware yet was unsure if that was only implemented during the OTA updating process through the GO app or also when sideloading the corresponding update.bin file on the SD card. The 1st time I fired up the controller, I did not notice any update...
Yesterday I bought a used but working P3S remote controller at a yard sale. The aircraft it belonged to was lost some time ago. Included was the original retail box for the aircraft along with the black prop sock and battery charger. At 5 bucks, it was a a very good deal that I could not pass...
P3 Standards are not immune to solar weather. Mine was acting obnoxious today, it took a long time to lock-on to 7 sats and even then it was not flying nicely. I have to look at NASA Geomagnetic forecasts more often.
1.9.20 and the latest version of Go app works just fine if you have the cpu and ram required, just take the time to do the one time login to DJI and the height and distance restrictions are immediately removed. Be aware that the same restrictions will go back into effect if the Compass, GPS or...
DC resistance means nothing, impedance is the key factor. Are you using the flat panels or the sticks?
I have the Blue Proton kit and usually get better range with the sticks in a rural area.
The 2.4 panels will out perform sticks when flying in a WiFi congested area.
Only the genuine ones...
There's seemingly no way to return from 1.9.2 to an earlier FW version because last night, I attempted to downgrade the firmware of my 2 yr old P3S from 1.9.2 to 1.7.9 and even though I was downgrading in steps (1.9.2 to 1.8.1 and then to 1.7.9) each time the downgrade process seemed to...
Cameronb1 is right. I rooted my Nexus7 last night. Using the DisableService app to toggle off MapService works great on DJI GO version 3.1.28 but have not tried it on 3.1.30 and 3.1.34 yet.
I'm quite pleased with DJI GO now!
Using a rooted Nexus 7 2012 on Android 4.4.4 (that I use as a test bed for app mods) and using the 'Disable Service' app from the Play Store, I unchecked 'Map Service' from the drop down list of DJI GO services. Is Google maps is back?
Yes, and Google Maps was always there! I did this using...
The most recent firmware version install results will be at the bottom of a log.txt file located on the SD card. I sure wish my P3S was stuck on 1.7.9 firmware.
Google Maps is still part of the latest GO apps, you just need to root your Android device to use it. Dunno about the most current versions that sport Map Box but I have Google Maps on version 3.1.28 and rooting my device was worth it.
During calibration, the compass senses and remembers magnetic lines of force from the earth including any magnetic objects near and onboard the drone such as the the motors, gimbal etc and so the flight controller will compensate for the recorded external and onboard sources of magnetic...
