That's awesome I'm impressed. I wonder if it's just a surface charge or has actual capacity. Maybe you'd know- I've adopted a system where I only discharge my batteries down to about 25% or so and then charge them to about 50% until I want to go fly, at which point I'll charge them 90-100%. For...

    Help making 360 panorama pics

I'm sure it's great. But I expect they're going to be making money from images we make. Worse, users might be waiving their rights to make their own money on them. Sounds shady that's all. I stich mine with Image Composite Editor or Hugin, then change the canvas size in Gimp. I'm trying to...

    Help making 360 panorama pics

I haven't used the app but I plan to try it. I was all for it but I read that they retain copyrights of your images. Meaning, for me, I don't want to shoot my house or personal property, and wouldn't want to use it for anything I'd like to monetize myself. I didn't read it myself, just what I...

My First P4P video! Comments appreciated

I didn't seek them out to bother them, and I left them alone pretty quickly. It looked like you were about the same. As much as I would have been upset at my new drone being broken, I'd feel pretty bad if I shattered some bird's legs in the props. That would be on me.

Lol be careful if you do get into it. That could end poorly. But Im guessing you know that. The software is interesting. Do the remote first then reboot both then do the aircraft then rebooth both again. Remote before bird is mandatory for this update I believe.

Hobbyists flying within 5 mi of airport?

Yeah I had most of that stuff already. Most of the problem is that this area even though it's class C I don't think they experience much or any interaction with drone pilots. In a way it would be more efficient if they already knew what they needed but they spent some time figuring out how to...

Hobbyists flying within 5 mi of airport?

Update! Today I notified the ATC and flew around the Capitol without a problem! I contacted them early in the morning (9:15 or so) and talked a bit just to get a feel for it. I stated my intention of flying as a hobbiests and asked if notification was ok or if I needed direct authorization from...

Might be gimbal. Not sure if it's fatal or not. First drone P3SE did it sounded like a grind/buzz. I didn't keep it long enough to know if it was fatal or not. New P4P is internal fan noise only, minimal gimbal noise when I move the craft.

Yes. Haven't gotten the policy email yet but she closed the call saying it's on it's way as soon as it's billed to my card.

Very good that you can see it operate in person. One way to mitigate your risk is to get insurance on it- I just posted a topic that I got a State Farm policy for $30 and $1500 coverage for my store bought drone. If you call State Farm and talk to a PAP agent, see if they will allow private...

State Farm PAP - $30 for $1500 coverage.

Started coverage on my new P4P. Insured for everything except mechanical wear and tear (ok) and liability (which is a duh). Hopefully wear and tear results in a crash and I have to file a claim. But yeah, $30, covered P4P, remote, battery. I'm in Charleston, WV area. Can't beat that. That is...

I just got coverage for $30! Covers drone, remote, battery. I can add batteries to it (probably additional few bucks each). TOTALLY worth it. The only relevant thing they don't cover is liability (obviously) and mechanical wear and tear. My thoughts on that is... it's not going to suddenly fall...
