    Foggy sunrise in Texas (P3P)

A couple of days ago I found myself awake a little before dawn (thanks to my dogs for that ). It was foggy outside, clear sky above, so I thought I would launch the Phantom. I used the Exposure bracketing feature and then processed the images in Lightroom. All taken below 400ft and with the...

Got my Section 333 Exemptions, But now I need a Sport Pilot Cert..... Ugggggg

CCF, while I 100% support the fact that you are going to go ahead and get your Sport Pilot's License because it is the right thing to do (rules or no rules, that is what the FAA is asking for, and with good reason for now), I think you should take a deep breath and just take care of your own...

And besides that, you will have a blast getting the license. Good luck CoolClownFish!

Which sounds great until they knock on the door. We need to be working with the FAA, not blatantly ignoring them.

Got my Section 333 Exemptions, But now I need a Sport Pilot Cert..... Ugggggg

It would be nice if they would allow commercial operations based on an existing airman certificate without the need for the exemption. It would have to be on the understanding that you are operating based on that certificate and are therefore accountable for any violations, just as you would be...

They are ensuring that anyone operating commercially has knowledge of the airspace system and has demonstrated that they are capable of good decision making. They also want to be able to hold a drone operator accountable for their actions. I know that I would never risk my airman's certificate...

    ADS-B

Check out an app called Flightradar 24. It uses ADS-B data feeds. No special equipment needed :)

Has anyone that's bought a P3P from B&H also bought their "Square Trade" protection plan?

I did. Seemed like cheap insurance all things considered.

    Too close for comfort

Strobes help, but I can see the day when a small transponder will be standard equipment. Something like the Sagetech XP. http://tinyurl.com/p6v6jdt

    Useful AirMap Airspace Tool Video

Cool resource. Looking at the way it draws airspace such as Class B and C, it just draws the areas where that airspace meets the ground. As we are not supposed to be above 400ft AGL then we should only be concerned with that portion of the airspace. This site simplifies things considerably...

P3 Facebook group to start banning members?!

I'm guessing those spouting the 'I'll do whatever I want because there is no law to prevent me' line don't fly anything they can actually sit in .
