Hi RodPad, I couldn't get the antenna re-attached in the end, so I went the route of sending it back to DJI which was surprisingly trouble free. Got an email confirming a UPS shipping label. Sent it away and received a new replacement phantom all within a week.

I had no problem in removing the crimp, I removed some of the silicone paste, and it popped straight off. I'm contemplating buying a replacement antenna and replacing my damaged one. Would it be as straight forward as that?

I had no joy in re-attaching my cable into the crimp. I even popped the crimp off but still couldn't manage to get it fully home. Ive contacted DJI a few days ago regarding this problem but all I've had is automated response so far. Is there anyway I can just full replace the antenna completely?.

Yes, but only like this unfortunately as I forgot to take one with it disconnected and the controller itself open.

Is this repair the same as described by Dataa2, or do you have any tips on how to fix my problem. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect it's the issue as I when I opened the Controller I found the aerial not to be connected at all, the picture I posted I merely placed the lead into the correct area without any cleaning or removing of the UFL crimp. I did attempt one flight after this just to see if it was any better...

Thank you for your repies, I will attempt to remove the silicone tomorrow. Is it just a case of popping the wire out, cleaning the UFL crimp (if clogged) and re-inserting the wire?. Is there any need to strip more of the wire for a better connection. Also can you apply more crimp to the crimp if...

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I appear to have a faulty antenna/aerial possible broken or dry joint. How would I remedy this is it a simple case of opening and re-terminating the joint. As currently my drone will go no higher than 30m without the RTH kicking in.
