On a somewhat related note, when upgrading a P3A to P3P, do you just swap the cameras, plug in the same two ribbon cables and upgrade the aircraft with the P3P firmware?

Here is the picture. It seems very solid to me. The aluminum was scraped when I put it in the vice to drill the hole. If it is important to you, you may want to put something around it first.

I was able to use the aluminum holder mount from a P2V and the Inspire 1 phone/tablet holder minus its aluminum holder and it became a totally secure mount for my iPad Mini 2. I just had to remove the ball from the P2V mount and drill a hole through it, so the screw from the I1 would fit...

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, 500m high is way higher than I plan on flying. It makes sense because I saw a posting on RCG with someone that flew the P3S 1900 meters away, in the clear. I thought maybe the latest app version restricted that. Thanks again!

Thanks for the response. If the P3S really has a maximum, software defined/imposed limit of 500 meters, that is a deal killer for me. I would rather stick with the P2 V2 FPV setup. I am not trying to set any long distance records but if the P3S is capable of 1000 meters, I don't know why...

I have the Phantom 2 Version 2 and just got it to work with Hero 4 Black. I had to downgrade the H3-3D gimbal using Part 56 from helidirect.com. There are videos and it was a simple process. My only issue is balancing the gimbal a bit but other than that, it seems fine.

Does simultaneous video and pictures only work on the black and silver? I have the white version and haven't found the option. Also, does the picture leave a brief gap in the video?
