Yes always do IMU and gimbal cal after FW update and you have to extract the bin file from the zip

I wish I had your choices lol. Unless it is abs necessary I wouldn't go near 1.9 (based on personal experience). BTW even the Inspires are having problems with their 1.9 FW and DJI has acknowledged it.

Too late now. It is at the repairer as I write. Txt file said upgrade was successful for the craft and all 4 batteries

In my case, the latest firmware update brought up the error after 2 perfect flights, then bricked it. Downgrading didn't help. I don't think it is a widespread problem. Just a few unlucky ones have had it happen to them. I have sent mine back to DJI for repair.

Yes I do this all the time when required. I don't think it has anything to do with the batts, but hey who knows anymore !

For what its worth, the error message does not popup under the Litchi app, but motors still won't start.
