End of hobby flying in USA?

Perfect example... I decide to hot dog in the jet at tree top level, fly directly over a drone operator, take the drone in the intake, and get forced into an emergency landing. I would most definitely be at fault, not the remote pilot. I broke a FAR resulting in an incident/accident. The...

End of hobby flying in USA?

Actually, no, it is not wrong. Right Of Way based on aircraft type does not apply during reckless operation. If a drone is flown within its parameters and an aircraft is flown recklessly within close proximity to people, in the case I stated, the aircraft pilot will be faulted for reckless...

End of hobby flying in USA?

I foresee ADS-B tech being implemented within the drone industry. Simplified, ADS-B sends and receives accurate position data to other aircraft and air traffic control. Filters allow what traffic is displayed. So, our drones have GPS. Our drones communicate with the controller. Our...

End of hobby flying in USA?

Part of the reasoning behind Line Of Sight drone operation is that it keeps the drone and person relatively close together so there is an association between the object and the operator apparent to others, including aircraft pilots. e.g. If I’m flying my aircraft below 500 ft in an uncongested...

End of hobby flying in USA?

Read this, and you will understand the 400 ft cap and why it will never need to be lower. Federal Aviation Regulation Part 91 Subsection 119 § 91.119 Minimum safe altitudes: General. Except when necessary for takeoff or landing, no person may operate an aircraft below the following altitudes...

End of hobby flying in USA?

No need for hysterics on this. We fly our drones, hobby and otherwise, in uncontrolled airspace. There are very few rules, even for aircraft, in uncontrolled airspace. The FAA will no more restrict drones to AMA fields than they will restrict VFR aircraft to the airfield itself. Stop the panic...

    Sharing the airspace

ADS-B IN(Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast Inbound) may be a reasonable safety solution for civilian drones in the near future. An inexpensive non-TSO’d receiver Bluetoothed to your tablet could conceivably feed aircraft position data to your map window. Technically, ADS-B OUT is...

“The FAA manages the navigable airspace to ensure the safety of aircraft and the efficient utilization of the airspace. In managing the navigable airspace and implementing TFRs, while the following is not an exhaustive list, the FAA considers factors such as: the area where the event will be...

VIP Movements impact those of us that fly manned aircraft in the Air Traffic System, causing the operation thousands of dollars, in some cases, due to delays, alternate routing, use of less convenient airports, or grounding due to pop-up TFR’s. We almost got stuck on the ground in SE FL due to a...

3D Topography bulk material volume measuring 4

I’ll check it out. Thank you. I need to survey mulch and gravel piles that are quite large.

Sharing one of the flying techniques i'm learning

I’ve done a few shots like that flying very slow and then speeding up the the video in Final Cut. The effect is impressive!

how much time the P4 pro can stand flying?

I’ve never had a problem running six batteries back to to back. I haven’t noticed a progressive heating from flight to flight, but I’m not using a laser thermo to check that scientifically.

how much time the P4 pro can stand flying?

I think they mean continuous back to back flights with no cool down in between... not one continuous flight. :)

3D Topography bulk material volume measuring 4

Does anyone have a recommendation for an autonomous flight 3D mapping app compatible with the P4P that can measure volume... specifically bulk material? There are solutions out there... looking for first hand feedback on an app you may already be using. Thank you in advance.
