I have a mavic 3 Pro that I’m using as a main drone, but would like to keep my v2.0 P4P as a spare. I think I’ll wait until the FAA fixes all the issues (since they aren’t enforcing) to change my registration. Glad to see there will be a way to use my v2, too bad my v1 will still need a module.
Sourcing from foreign countries is the American way… unfortunately. I will have to buy a module for my back up drones… but am going to wait until an American company builds one lol (won’t hold my breath). America needs to start building stuff again, drones etc. If China can reverse engineer...
Can’t answer for sure as I don’t have a module. BUT, I doubt you’d delete the SN of the drone as some people have numerous. I wonder if the module gets its own FAA number? Makes sense especially if you’re switching it between drones…. Just a guess. Good luck. I’ll be following as I have...
Well, being a 107 pilot who does commercial work and has commercial liability insurance, I wouldn’t want to have to put in a claim while not being in complete compliance with every FAA rule and reg.
No I can’t get aftermarket add on RID modules as they are still back ordered. I have a mavic...
I started commercially in 2019. I hooked up with a photography outfit that does real estate photos, weddings etc. I do all their drone work and receive a 1099 end of year. Otherwise I have business cards and website, don’t advertise otherwise. I work full time job so the drone stuff is just...
Right, until I request permission then they give it to me. And they release the drone to fly wherever I need.
The DJI account has exactly how many times and how many miles I flew. If you want to believe they don’t know what you are doing, the more power to you.
I think some people have their heads in the sand. DJI knows exactly where you are with your drone. Their flysafe database can even ground you. If you were somewhere sensitive, they would know.
But then again, why not just fly huge balloons across the US, nobody will question it… especially...
If somebody wants to hurt you, they don’t need a gun. A knife, a bat, heck I’ve seen people seriously hurt from wrist rockets shooting metal ball bearings.
Not an expert but, if TikTok can see all your info on your phone, and you use your phone to connect to your drone, maybe the DJI app searches your phone for info too.
National security issues aside, I don’t want to be part of a foreign country’s intelligence gathering…
Let’s face it though...
