    Buzz, I was thinking about this a little... Tiffen makes combination polarizer and ND filters for cinema cameras.. Ideally we could fly a polarizer/ND1.2 combination filter. That would put the filter at six stops again, but would also achieve polarization.

    Awkward situation with Dronefly - What should I do?

    I wonder myself. There's a note stating "updated firmware, advanced calibration, test flew" on my invoice. According to Dronefly, the aircraft was test flown and worked on by their most senior tech. I have no reason to doubt that aside from, of course, the immediate fly-away and crash.
