I agree with AGreenway on this. If you do the zoom post editing you are able to accurately control the zoom range, speed and position. If you try and do this in-flight you will never be as accurate.
Far better to record as much area as you can and edit it later.
Just a thought, but what rating is the onboard electric fan in the P4 ?? If this fan was not very efficient, was binding or was not of good quality, would it consume more power than was thought ??
Would it be worth disconnecting it to test ??
Its a brave man that flies over a densely populated area. Have you thought about what you will do if the Phantom goes into Autoland or the battery malfunctions?
This is all very promising. I have been holding off buying a P3P until reports of long range started coming in.
It looks like with alternative antennas I will be able to easily get past my 6km flight I made with the P2.
