Anybody want to try some of these? I purchased them and they work great! Perfect fit, and it should keep dust out of your motors and keep them from getting scratched and our of balance during transport. for a buck you can't go wrong! I highly recommend these:

What are you hoping to protect the motors from? Dust during transport? How much dust do you think the motors might ingest while they are running? If your transport environment is that hostile there are other components that would be more susceptible to the ingress if foreign material than the motors. The might look cool, that is probably the only practical purpose they serve.

Hey don’t spoil a great idea with facts [emoji6] I’ve got some too - cheap and easy, I like them too, covers the top of motors (which has sharp edges) when props off. Feels & looks neat even if minimal practical value..

I bought a set for my P4 when I got it a couple of years ago. At the time, I had just purchased a third party case for the copter and all its gear, and unlike the stock DJI case made of hard Styrofoam, the new case was lined with a softer cell foam, and the top lid closed snugly down upon all four motors. So for me, it was a way of alleviating my concerns regarding this foam inevitability drying out over time resulting in little bits of it dropping down into the motor housings. Plus, there is something inexplicably fun about sliding them on and off...

black ones look better .

Naaaa... yellow FTW ;)

Sitting on my little plastic takeoff pad - also my aiming point when landing.

I bought a 2nd-hand p3p kit last year that came with a softside backpack, a set of the motor protectors, and a bunch of other stuff. The bird fits in the backpack upside down so they were necessary to protect the backpack from getting torn.

When I am not using my Phantom 3 standard, it sits on my drone display shelf, sometimes for weeks without being used! The dust it accumulates is actually significant, and could possibly shorten the life of the motors, so a dollar here could save 80 or more down the road. Also, it's travel case is not very nice inside, and I don't want the motors to get scratched, because eventually they will get off balance if they get scratched too much. I also got a Neewer gimbal guard for the camera. I like it because it serves as a lens cap and gimbal protector all in one, saving precious setup time!

IMO, I have to agree, even though my favorite color is red, I love the yellow ones![emoji5] There is something joyously stupid about putting those silly yellow things on your drone and proudly displaying it on your shelf, it just looks, well, silly! My little sister agrees, when she looks at the thing, she always laughs at its "little yellow hats!'

By all means use them.... they won’t hurt anything... if the motors are somehow getting scratched in the bag I would be more worried about damaging the bearing/mountings than balance issues.

I’m actually protecting my Manfrotto Phantom backpack from cuts and tears from the sharp motor ends on Phantom, not protecting the motors.. can’t undo cuts and damage - I may wish to sell the bag in future too, there is definitely practical use too for me..
