Hi, Good Evening.
I took my phantom fc40 out for it's first flight on Sunday. My main goal was to test the GPS and return home functionality.
I had the phantom hover about 5 feet off the ground then I killed the power to the controller. the phantom waited then shot up. I gather from the manual this would have gone 20 meters, yet it just stayed there. Now I must admit. I probably hadn't recordered it's home position. But when I tried to restablish the controller connection. The main LED turned red. The phantom then came down in the spot it was hovering at. I am unable to find a description of what went wrong here.
Can any of you more experienced pilots offer a hypothesis of what occurred?
