I collect the old Phantom units, got a collection of 9 so far, only one i cant find is a H4-3D unit, I keep searching ebay, there is one but its well to expensive and the seller wont come down on price.

The P3 uses the DJI GO APP, the pilot app was the very first version, maybe thats the problem, you get it via a google search of DJI GO app and then follow the download link or get it on the apple app store

Im going with a faulty RC unit as you said, see if anyone local has a unit you can test with, or open it up and see if any cables etc are loose inside, pay attention to the small cover on the rear of the RC
